THE EXECUTIVE PERSPECTIVE

Make trusted knowledge easier to find and use.

A knowledge assistant is valuable when employees can find a usable answer and check its source. CCS can build a retrieval experience around approved content, access boundaries and a measured answer-quality standard.

HOW THE DESIGN WORKS

Follow the logic.

Content ingestion preserves provenance and permission metadata. An authorized query retrieves relevant passages through hybrid or vector search. Those passages ground the model response. Evaluation tests retrieval, source accuracy, abstention and access enforcement separately.

Test retrieval permissions, grounding and answer quality separately.
THE RETURN ON THE INVESTMENT

Make value measurable.

Potential value · to be validated

Potential return comes from reduced search and verification effort. It depends on content quality, successful adoption and the ability to decline unsupported questions. Answers that still require substantial correction reduce the benefit.

01

Time to find and verify an answer

Baseline → pilot → operational review

02

Grounded answer acceptance on a test set

Baseline → pilot → operational review

03

Permission failures and unsupported-answer rate

Baseline → pilot → operational review

A PRACTICAL VALUE MODEL

Annual capacity value = verified successful queries × net minutes saved ÷ 60 × loaded employee cost.

Include indexing, embeddings, inference, content stewardship, permission synchronization and evaluation.

Recovered time represents capacity, not automatically cash savings. Count it as financial benefit only where finance agrees how that capacity will be used. No achieved client ROI is claimed for this reference architecture.

Model your first-year ROIUse your own estimates. See the calculation change.

Enter values in one currency. Gross benefit must reflect achievable adoption and timing. Include all first-year costs; do not count the same benefit twice. These figures stay on this page and are not submitted.

First-year net valueAdd your estimatesFirst-year ROINot yet calculated

ROI = (gross benefit − operating cost − implementation cost) ÷ (operating cost + implementation cost) × 100. Requires a positive total cost. An estimate, not a forecast or guaranteed return.

From reference to your reality

your operating constraints.

Illustrative reference pattern, not a deployable design or a claim of a completed client implementation. CCS validates workload requirements, integrations, security controls, recovery paths and ownership before recommending a production design.

A decision worth making explicit
